CAROL STREAM, Ill — The Greatest Generation is teaming up with a generation of tech savvy students sharing their knowledge through a program in the suburbs.

Twice a month, elementary and middle school students from District 93 in Carol Stream spend their afternoon with residents of Windsor Park retirement community and explain everything from Facebook and Google to Microsoft Office and email.

A generation of many who lived through wars and The Depression getting schooled by a generation raised on technology – and a little vice versa.

Not only are the students providing a little education, the school district is providing the technology. All of the 25 laptops residents use were also donated by the district.
