CHICAGO -- With the holidays fast approaching, the Chicago-area company Bright Endeavors will crank out hundreds of candles each day.  In the process it will teach a group of young mothers, priceless job and communication skills.

The program trains young mothers ages 16-to-24 along with warehouse work.

Each moment of the work day is a learning experience for the group.   There is classroom time to discuss everything from daily personal goals to work goals to production goals.

Through Bright Endeavors the women are transforming their lives. During their 12-week paid program, participants learn to measure wax, control temperature and scent, label, trim and quality control the finished product.

Additional classroom time assists in resume development and practice job interviews.

It’s a toolbox of life and job skills they call it. 70 women receive the training annually and about three quarters of which end up in full time positions.
