A southwest suburban man is being held on bond after allegedly exposing himself to two young girls.

Harvey police say Guas Sweiss, an Orland Park businessman, drove several miles from his home on July 14 to a remote alley in Harvey with the intention of approaching young girls and exposing himself.

He didn't expect Kenneth Smith, the father of a 4-year-old girl himself, to catch the whole disturbing incident on camera in his own backyard.

Smith was able to call 911 as he recorded the incident and the suspect's license plate.

Harvey Detectives credit Smith's quick thinking for catching the suspect.

Sweiss is charged with a felony because he has two prior sex and weapons convictions.

Police and neighbors say they are happy Smith acted so quickly since so many young children play in the neighborhood every day. They're now looking into reports from neighboring communities to see if Sweiss could be responsible for other, similar incidents.
