A single mother from Chicago who works at McDonald’s was among those who welcomed the Pope to the White House.

Adriana Alvarez has a three year-old son, and has worked at McDonald’s for five years.

She’s part of the movement to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

She says currently, it’s hard to survive, and has a tough time paying rent and day care.
