A family outing turned into a frightening experience when their car was taken at gunpoint in suburban Schaumburg.
It happened Tuesday in Atcher Park, near Syracuse Land and Slinger-Land Dr.
A father was playing with his kids when a man walked up and asked if anyone had a cellphone.
Police say the man then flashed a gun, and made the father and his kids get on the ground before taking their car keys.
The carjacker drove off with two friends who were hiding nearby.
