A man in Connecticut is facing criminal charges for “poking” someone on Facebook.

Police arrested Eric Bauer for violating the terms of a protective order.

Bauer’s friend says he went to block the victim on Facebook, and hit the “poke” button instead.

The woman also has a restraining order against Bauer, and he has one against her.

Prosecutors say he violated an order of protection because the “poke” is still a way of getting a person’s attention and  considered a form of communication.

Bauer  faces up to 10 years in prison if he’s convicted.
