Facebook is making some changes to its newsfeed — again!

In a blog post, Facebook’s engineering director says they are putting more emphasis on photos, videos, status updates and links from friends “you care about,” and less focus on publishers and pages.

That means you may not see as many updates from the WGN-TV Facebook page. Here’s what you can do to prevent that from happening:

On Desktop

First, make sure you “Like” the WGN-TV Facebook page. Next, hover your mouse over the dropdown arrow. One of the options is “See First.” Selecting this option will  ensure that you see posts from WGN-TV at the top of your newsfeed.

If you’re interested in getting notifications, click on the pencil next to “Notifications” in the dropdown. You can get desktop notifications for specific types of Facebook posts and live video.

On Mobile

After “Liking” the WGN-TV Facebook page, make sure you also check the “Following” box.

After you check “Following,” you should get a prompt asking you about your preferences. You can select “Unfollow,” “Default” or “See First.” Selecting “See First” will ensure that you see posts from WGN-TV at the top of your newsfeed.

If you’re interested in setting up notifications, select the “More” button — it has three dots — and then select notifications. You can edit your notification settings so that you receive mobile push notifications for different types of Facebook posts.
