CHICAGO — A Cook County judge agreed to expunge the record of a former Chicago police detective who was acquitted in the cover-up of the Laquan McDonald shooting.

Earlier this year, a Cook County judge found former Detective David March, former Officer Joe Walsh, and current Officer Thomas Gaffney not guilty of conspiring to lie on police reports and cover-up for former Officer Jason Van Dyke.

March’s record will be expunged from the public record after his request was approved  by Judge LeRoy Martin Jr. on Thursday.

Walsh and Gaffney will also be in court hoping to get their records expunged.
