BELLEVILLE, Ill. — No injuries are reported after an early-morning explosion destroyed a home in southern Illinois.
The explosion shook a neighborhood in Belleville shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say that the home and one next door that was damaged were vacant.
The cause wasn’t immediately known, but natural gas was suspected. A flame seen in debris of the home following the explosion was attributed to a gas line.
