A creepy, alien-looking creature found by a Washington woman was identified with the help of social media.
Hailee Graff posted photos of a bug her friend June Dail-Lowe found to the Q13 Fox News station Facebook page. The bug, which she described as being an inch long with eight legs and a bulbous section, was floating in her watering can outside her home.
Rod Crawford, a spider specialist at Seattle’s Burke Museum, said he believed it was a folding-door spider.
“Their behavior is similar to the more famous trapdoor spiders,” Crawford told Q13. “They stay underground most of their lives which is why they are unfamiliar to most folks.”
They are not a threat to humans.
