A former Chicago city comptroller has been arrested in Pakistan.

The Sun-Times quotes a Pakistani newspaper as saying, Amer Ahmad was picked up at the airport in Lahore, for traveling on fake documents.

He had just arrived on a flight from Mexico.

Ahmad was convicted of money laundering in his previous job, in Ohio.

And last week, his wife got an order of protection against him, and alerted authorities that Ahmad was seeking a phony Pakistani birth certificate.
