CHICAGO — Englewood residents can now buy healthy groceries and enjoy a mocha latte in one-stop shopping.
Whole Foods and Starbucks opened in the Englewood Square shopping center at 63rd and Halsted on Wednesday. The two stores are part of a $20 million complex.
Some shoppers were so excited about the new Whole Foods, they got in line at 2:30am on Wednesday.
Whole Foods will buy from several local suppliers, and employ about 100 people.
The CEO of Whole Foods was on-hand for the opening, and says this latest location is the next step in Whole Foods’ contribution to Chicago as a whole.
