Elmhurst police search for bank robbery suspect

ELMHURST, Ill. — Police in suburban Elmhurst are searching for a bank robbery suspect.

At 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to a bank robbery at Inland Bank, located at 539 S. Spring Road. Police say a man presented a note and demanded money from the bank teller, then fled eastbound toward Montrose on foot.

The suspect is described as a 5’1″, 130-pound white male wearing a blue jacket, black pants and a hat.

According to District 205 Communications Director Melea Smith, Lincoln Elementary school and the Madison Early Childhood Education Center were briefly placed on soft lockdown while police searched in the area. The lockdown was lifted at both schools at 11:15 a.m.
