DETROIT – An eleven-year-old boy in Detroit has been charged with manslaughter after fatally shooting a toddler.

The boy allegedly got the handgun from his father’s home and took it with him and got into a car parked in the backyard.  A short time later, a three-year-old boy got into the same car.

Police say it’s unclear what happened between the two but the young child was shot once in the face and killed.

Prosecutors say they can’t remember ever having to charge someone so young.
