The death of an elderly man killed by police with a bean-bag gun has been ruled a homicide by  the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Authorities say 95-year-old John Wama died Saturday after a fight with Park Forest police.

They say he was threatening officers with a foot-long knife, a cane and a shoehorn so they used a taser and bean-bag gun to subdue him.

The medical examiner’s office says Wama died from the bean bags causing stomach bleeding and blunt force trauma.
