CHICAGO -- Hundreds of families will have a happier Thanksgiving thanks to Dwayne Wade's foundation.

The 5th Annual Day of Giving took place at New Creation Binding and Loosing Ministries, the church led by Wade's mother, Pastor Jolinda Wade. People received everything they need for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.

The giveaway was actually a two-day event and started yesterday. About 500 families will benefit from the event. In addition to food and clothes they also provided employment resources to help people find jobs.

The Chicago Food Depository also wants to help make sure all families have a meal this thanksgiving holiday.

Volunteers distributed turkeys, hams and other holiday staples Saturday at locations like the beautiful Zion Baptist Church on 64th street.

It's one of 66 food depository agencies that will help thousands of families across Chicago.
