The famous breakfast chain, Dunkin’ Donuts, said it will introduce a couple new items to their menu. The franchise plans to offer gluten-free cinnamon-sugar donuts and gluten-free blueberry muffins by the end of the year.
The move is to accommodate those with food and dietary restrictions.
Gluten is the major protein found in grains like wheat, barley and rye as well as some deli meats and other packaged products.
A small portion of the population have a condition known as celiac disease, where just a small amount of gluten can prompt severe discomfort for individuals.
Dunkin’ plans to unveil the new products in their stores by the end of this year.
