Drone captures abandoned city 28 years after power plant explosion

A drone captured the remains of a Ukrainian city that was devastated by the Chernobyl power plant explosion in 1986.

Filmmaker, Danny Cooke, captured the decaying area with a camera attached to a drone while working on an episode for ’60 Minutes.’

According to WJW , Cooke spent a week exploring Chernobyl and the nearby abandoned city of Pripyat, which are featured in his video above.

“There was something serene, yet highly disturbing about this place,” Cooke posted on YouTube. “Time has stood still and there are memories of past happenings floating around us.”
