Driver hurt in River North crash

CHICAGO — A driver had to be rescued when he lost control of his car and smashed into a building in River North early Saturday.

The man’s Hyundai hit a building on State Street near Huron Street about 3 a.m. Saturday. The driver was pinned inside; firefighters extricated him from the vehicle. He was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

No one else was hurt.

Witnesses said the man was speeding. Police are investigating.
