A lost dog found in Chicago is back with its owner… in Texas.

The happy ending shows the value of implanting a micro-chip ID in your beloved pet.

The reunion brought sheer joy last night at the Austin airport when Phelia, a one-year-old Siberian husky who disappeared in July met again with her owner Jodie.

Phelia was micro-chipped, so when she turned up at a Chicago shelter, the staff phoned Jodie.

The organization Lost Dogs of Illinois contacted Lost Dogs of Texas making the reunion possible and chipmaker Home Again paid for the dog’s flight.
