CHICAGO —In federal court today,   prosecutors announced they expect testimony from some of Dennis Hastert's alleged victims. One is a former wrestler, only labeled as "Individual D.”  The sister of another alleged victim, who has since died, is also expected to address the court.

Also today, Federal Judge Thomas Durkin indicated that he wants to consider that the former U.S. House speaker lied to federal authorities for years, including that one of the alleged victims tried to extort him.

Hastert has pleaded guilty to breaking banking law in a scheme to pay $3.5 million to ensure 'Individual A' stayed silent about being abused when he was a student at the Illinois high school where Hastert was the wrestling coach

Today, Hastert lawyers questioned if a groin rub actually translates to sexual abuse. The incident in question allegedly took place in a motel room with Hastert after Individual A pulled a groin at a wrestling meet. Prosecutors say Hastert touched or rubbed the then 14-year-old genitals.

The presentencing document unsealed today said, "While undoubtedly many would consider this episode as described by Individual A, consisting of a groin rub for a groin pull and a message to be misconduct, we are not so certain that the incident qualifies as sexual misconduct, especially for a coach and a trainer 42 years ago. Regardless of the characterization, Dennis deeply regrets that the episode occurred.”
