Oscar winner Russell Crowe popped into Chicago for a special premiere of his new movie.
Crowe hit the Icon Showplace Theater in the South Loop last night for a screening, followed by a Q&A of his latest “The Water Diviner” in which he both stars and makes his directorial debut.
Crowe has fond memories of the Chicago area, especially Naperville where he lived when he was making “Man of Steel” in 2012.
He told WGN Entertainment Critic Dean Richards that he fell in love with Illinois’ bike paths, and even rode one day from Naperville all the way to Lake Geneva, Wis.
“I definitely had a sore butt after that,” he said.
“The Water Diviner” opens Friday.
