Van Williams, TV star of ‘The Green Hornet,’ has died

Van Williams, the star of the 1960’s TV show “The Green Hornet” has died.

The show, inspired by the TV series “Batman,” featured Williams in dual role of the Hornet as well as his secret identity of millionaire publisher Brett Reid along side his faithful aid Kato, played by Bruce Lee.

The TV idol also appeared in classic shows like “Surfside 6,” “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” as well as trying to relaunch “Batman’ and “Green Hornet” on TV in 1989.

Williams died of renal failure last week. He was 82 years old.
