CHICAGO — Today is a special Chicago #TBT anniversary.

It was 50 years ago today, August 20, 1965, that the Beatles played the old Comiskey Park.

It was their second show in Chicago.

The Beatles landed at Midway Airport in the morning, and played two shows that day for 50,000 fans who paid $5.50 for a ticket.

After the show, they went to Margie’s Candies at Armitage and Western – which is still open.

They stayed at the Sahara Hotel in Schiller Park that night.

Val Camilletti of Val’s Halla Records  in Oak Park worked for Capitol Records back then, and remembers what that show was like.
