AURORA, Ill. — You may remember the 1989 Disney film, “The Little Mermaid” and it’s take away song, “Under The Sea.”

Now, it’s all back live on stage at the Paramount Aurora — “swimming” with great songs, glorious excitement, and overflowing with imagination.

Based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale, it’s an explosion of color and visual magic with the story of the underwater mermaid beauty who falls in love with an out-of-water handsome prince who she saves from drowning. To follow her feelings, she makes a pact with an evil sea witch.

But that’s such a simple description for a show that is so multi-dimensional.

Amazing performances headed by Kari Yancy, Devin DeSantis and a great supporting cast, most of which, negotiating undersea creature puppets to add to the visual experience. But the most impressive effect is the flawless wire work, to give the illusion of the characters swimming to and from the surface.

WGN’s Dean Richards highly recommends this sweet, sentimental, fun, and perfect show for the whole family over the holidays.

It’s been extended until January 15 at the Paramount Aurora, located at 23 E Galena Blvd.
