CHICAGO — David Letterman is out of retirement and apparently in Chicago, filming for his new Netflix talk show “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.”
The veteran host was spotted at Buddy Guy’s Legends in the South Loop and at the Athenian Room restaurant in Lincoln Park on Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Letterman’s new show centers around intimate and wide-ranging interviews with a single guest. Past interview subjects included Barack Obama and George Clooney, while Netflix has announced Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern will also be guests.
Each interview is combined with field segments that delve further into a guest’s personal history. This could explain why the show was filming at the Athenian Room in Chicago, which Tina Fey has said is one of her favorite restaurants in the city.
