CHICAGO — More than 10 hours later, local lanes on the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway just past Interstate 55 were reopened after a semi truck struck a median wall.

The accident, which happened at about 2 a.m. near 26th Street, exposed live electrical wires, which had to be de-energized before repairs could be made to the wall.

As a result, there were major delays throughout the day. However, the evening rush should proceed normally.
