Former mayor Richard M. Daley may testify next week, in a lawsuit over a sweetheart deal that a local restaurant received when he was mayor.

The Sun-Times reports, Mayor Rahm Emanuel wants to cancel Chicago’s 30-year contract with the Park Grill restaurant in Millennium Park.

Emanuel claims the Daley administration cheated taxpayers out of millions of dollars in tax revenue, to reward some wealthy investors with political ties to Daley; and he argues, the Chicago Park District had no right to let the restaurant open on city land without the City Council’s approval.
