CHICAGO — Archbishop Blase Cupich is breaking with tradition and plans to celebrate Easter mass this year at a suburban parish instead of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.

Cupich will celebrate Easter Sunday mass at St. Julie Billiart Parish in Tinley Park.

The decision to celebrate Easter Sunday elsewhere is a departure from Cardinal Francis George, who always celebrated at the cathedral, the seat of the archdiocese.

He will still attend Holy Week services at Holy Name and give the mass on Palm Sunday.
