The Chicago Cubs are backing off a bit on their aggressive plans to erect seven outfield signs at Wrigley Field.
To satisfy the National Park Service, and qualify for federal tax credits, the Cubs' owners have agreed to eliminate one left-field sign from their expansion plan and shrink the size of a second sign.
In addition to reducing the number of outfield signs from seven to six, the Cubs plan to trim the size of a new video board in right field and move it closer to the right field foul line. The team will also relocate the script ad sign in right field to under the video board.
The Cubs will submit their revised plan to the Commission on Chicago Landmarks Thursday.
