CHICAGO — A video of students threatening a Chicago Public Schools substitute teacher in the classroom has surfaced on the Internet.

School officials believe the video was shot several years ago.

The video shows a scary moment for a substitute teacher after a student picked up a chair and threatened to throw it at her.

It is unknown why the video has surfaced now.  It runs several minutes and throughout it students are heard swearing at the teacher telling her to sit down and swearing at her.  The sub asks someone to get security.

WGN reached out to Chicago Vocational Career Center for comment and were referred to CPS.

The statement from CPS says:

The safety of students and staff is our top priority at Chicago Public Schools, and the behavior in this video is completely unacceptable. Over the past four years, CPS has worked hard to provide all schools with restorative justice and social and emotional learning supports, both of which are shown to reduce misconducts and keep at-risk students connected to their school communities.
