CHICAGO -- CTA Red Line service has resumed after a man was struck and killed by a train.

The accident happened just before 4 a.m. Monday near 71st Street in the Park Manor neighborhood on the city's South Side.

The man was struck on the CTA tracks at 69th and pronounced dead at the scene.

He has not been identified yet.

Red Line trains are operating with residual delays after the earlier accident on the tracks at 69th. Service is resuming. CTA is asking commuters to allow extra time on the Red Line while crews work to get service back to normal.
