SPARTA, Wis. — It’s the ultimate cycling adventure! The historic Elroy-Sparta state bike trail cuts through beautiful southwestern Wisconsin and a few rocky hillsides. It’s the first rails-to-trails conversion in the country. Together with three adjoining trails, the “Bike 4 Trails” provides over 100 miles of interconnected trails built over abandoned railroad beds.
This fun and healthy Wisconsin getaway travels by the backwaters of the Mississippi River, passing prime wildlife habitat and giving cyclists a bird’s-eye view of bald eagles and other migratory birds.
