CHICAGO — Police shot and killed a man after a fight late Friday night in West Englewood.
Shortly before midnight, the officers were on patrol near 69th and Damen.
According to Chicago Police, they saw one man shoot at another.
Police said the officers repeatedly ordered the gunman to drop the weapon, and when he didn’t, they opened fire.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he died.
A 26-year-old man — who police said he shot in the abdomen — is in stable condition.
Police recovered a weapon at the scene and they said the two men knew each other and the shooting was not random.
CPD policy requires the officers to be placed on desk duty for 30 days.
