Couple rescued after woman falls into Chicago River

CHICAGO — Crews rescued a woman and her boyfriend from the Chicago River Monday evening.

Officials said the woman lost her balance and fell into the river at about 11 p.m. on the 400 block of North McClurg Court. The woman’s boyfriend jumped in after her to help.

Rescue crews threw life rings to them and helped them out.

They were treated and taken to Northwestern Hospital for cuts and hypothermia.
