The city of Chicago may pay a multi-million dollar settlement to the family of a woman fatally shot by an off-duty Chicago police officer.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the city council’s finance committee will meet Monday on whether to give $4.5 million to the family of Rekia Boyd.

She died in 2012, after being shot in the head during an argument between the officer and her friend.

If approved by the finance committee, the full city council will vote on it Wednesday.
