CHICAGO – Friends, family and community activists are mourning the loss of 13-month-old Dillan Harris after he was hit and killed by a car in the city’s Woodlawn neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

Harris was in a stroller with his mother at a bus stop at 63rd and Ellis when a speeding car jumped the curb and ran over the stroller, killing him. Witnesses say the men inside the car jumped out of the car and ran off without looking to see what they hit.

Police say the car was speeding away from a deadly shooting in the South Shore neighborhood when it crashed, killing Harris. The shooting happened around 1:40 p.m., about twenty minutes before the crash. Police say someone shot a 22-year-old man in the left hip and back in the 7700 block of South Kingston Avenue. That man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police are still investigating the initial shooting and the accident that killed Harris.

TMZ reports that the man killed in the shooting is Chicago rapper Capo, a member of Chief Keef’s Glo Gang record label.

Two suspects are in custody and police are still looking for a third.
