Chicago’s Children Choir holds concert in Millennium Park

CHICAGO — Millennium Park was filled with the sounds of sweet music this morning.

The Chicago Children’s Choir’s annual “Paint the Town Red” event had nearly 5,000 of its in-school  and neighborhood choirs participating this morning, as well as the voice of Chicago singers.

The lead sponsor of today’s event is Target. Chicago Children’s Choir was established in the 50’s to bridge cultural divides.

WGN’s Micah Materre helped to kick off the  event this morning.

They have another performance this evening at 6:30 in Millennium Park. It is free and open to the public.

Choir alumnus, hip hop artist, Jamila Woods is also performing with the choir.
