Rideshare driver attacked, carjacked in Lawndale: police

CHICAGO — A 30-year-old rideshare driver was punched and carjacked in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood.

Chicago police said the driver was picking up a passenger on the 1800 block of South Avers Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday when two men approached, punched him and pulled him out of his car. The men then entered the car and fled the scene.

No one has been taken into custody.

The rideshare driver refused medical treatment.
