CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in a police-involved shooting on the city’s Old Town neighborhood Sunday morning.

According to officials, CPD officers were investigating an incident of a man with a gun in the 400 block of West Blackhawk Street. While touring the site, officers encountered an armed man at which officers fired shots at him.

According to a CPD report, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

A 34-year-old CPD officer was also taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for shortness of breath, police say. He will be on routine administrative duties for 30 days.

Police officials say no CPD officer was injured.

There was no additional information provided and police are still investigating.
