CHICAGO — A CTA bus driver was shot and seriously injured in the Loop Saturday night, according to Chicago fire officials.

Fire officials said a 34-year-old man was shot near the Chicago Cultural Center in the 0-100 block of East Washington Street just before 9 p.m., and is hospitalized at Northwestern Hospital in serious condition.

The perpetrator was apprehended and taken into custody shortly after the incident occurred and transported to Area Three for processing. Charges are currently pending.
