CHICAGO — Three people were shot, one fatally, Wednesday morning on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.

Officers were called to the 3800 block of S. Wentworth in Wentworth Gardens around 5:40 a.m. Police said three men were shot, ages 25, 24 and 22.

The 24-year-old man suffered “multiple gunshot wounds about the body,” and was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The 22-year-old man had been shot twice in the chest and was also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

The 25-year-old man was shot in the neck and back and suffered a graze wound to the forehead. He was transported to the University of Chicago and is listed in “serious but stable condition,” according to police.

No one is in custody.
