CHICAGO -- At Holy Name Cathedral this Sunday, a jubilant congregation celebrated Archbishop Blase Cupich's elevation to Cardinal.

Cupich is among the 17 men made Cardinal this weekend by Pope Francis, including three Americans. It's the first time the pontiff has named Americans to the College of Cardinals, and potentially a sign of the important role America still plays in the church.

WGN's Sean Lewis spoke with worshipers at Holy Name Cathedral on the day after Cupich officially became a member of the Church's college of Cardinals.
