CHICAGO -- A woman who was struck by a stray bullet while lying in bed Tuesday night is speaking out.

“I just want the world to see me and see what this has done to me,” said Lanita Simon, 28.  “I could be dead right now.”

A bullet pierced a window and a wall and struck Simon while she was lying in bed in her first floor apartment in the Parkway Gardens housing complex near 64th and King Drive.

The shooting also injured a 4-year old boy who was walking outside with his mother.

“If anybody out there is looking for revenge or anything, it’s not worth it,” said Simon. “Their mother, sister or kids could easily be me or that four year old baby. It’s really not worth it.”

Chicago police are still searching for the gunmen.
