It’s been a violent holiday weekend in Chicago; six people have already been shot and killed.

A man was shot to death and his girlfriend seriously injured after a car accident on Goose Island early Sunday morning.

Charles Jones and Kathy Bias were riding in Jones’ Maserati when a Buick sideswiped them in the 1000 block of North Branch.

The drivers traded insurance information; but as Jones drove to the police station, the other car reappeared; the drivers argued, and the men in the other car shot Jones.

Bias is hospitalized with a bullet in her spine.

Also Sunday morning, 27-year-old Malcolm Dobbey was found shot to death in his backyard at 121st and S. Indiana Ave.; police are questioning someone.

18-year-old Ferro Denard was the victim of an apparent drive-by shooting Saturday at 73rd and S. Dorchester; and 29-year-old Gregory Dixon was shot and killed in his apartment building on E. 52nd St., a half mile from president Obama’s home in Kenwood.
