Many Americans may have spotted a former President in the crowd during the USA soccer game on Sunday.

No, that was not Teddy Roosevelt. It was Chicagoan Mike D’Amico.

D’Amico dressed up in a Teddy Roosevelt costume because he thought it would make it easier to fire up the fans around him. Little did he know it would fire up many more across the nation and the internet.

People online have nicknamed him “Teddy Goal-sevelt”.

According to the Chicago Tribune, D’Amico is an associate creative director for a Chicago advertising firm and is known for his patriotic gear.

“Teddy Goal-sevelt” will be in the crowd again on Thursday when the U.S. men’s team take on Germany.
