CHICAGO — The leasing rights for the Chicago Skyway have been sold for a second time, for a billion dollars more than the original price.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports three major pension plans in Canada will pay $2.8 billion to run the Skyway for the next 89 years.
That’s the remainder of the lease that was sold ten years ago.
Drivers won’t likely notice any changes.
Toll increases were laid out in the lease agreement that was approved by the City Council in 2005.
