As predicted,  the snow fell on New Year’s Eve and Chicagoans did their best to embrace it.

It began falling early afternoon on Tuesday.

The snow and cold caused people across the city, including along Michigan Ave, to bundle up.

The frigid temperatures also had an impact on the plows trying to clear the roads. 370 crews were dispatch to routes  fighting the elements.

Another concern tonight isn’t just drivers, but drivers who’ve been drinking. Add a significant and consistent snow to that equation and law enforcement is preparing for the worst this holiday.

For everybody else, it makes the holiday a little prettier. With no school and fewer people heading off to work, the snow could mean more fun.  Some are simply basking in the glow of a storybook New Year’s Eve with no alarm to wake up to in the morning.
