CHICAGO – Twenty-thousand people lined the Riverwalk for Chi-Town Rising.   Instead of a ball dropping, there was a star rising. But the countdown was way off.

At midnight, the star showed there was still 27 seconds to go until the New Year. It confused many people who were keeping track of the actual time.

The band Chicago played right up until the final few seconds displayed on the star, but “Auld Lang Syne” seemed to start playing over them at midnight.
