CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer was injured after being hit by a car during a traffic stop.

The officer pulled over the vehicle early Thursday morning at 73rd and Jeffery in the South Shore neighborhood.

The driver refused to get out of the car.

He then sped off, hitting the officer as he was trying to get away.

The officer was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was treated and released.

Police have an ID on the driver of that vehicle, but so far, no arrest has been made.
